Having come from a musical family with his father having played both rock and classical guitar and sister being a vocalist and pianist, Ewan was initially taught the drums from the age of 7 by Bill Kemp giving him a solid understanding and appreciation of rhythm, laying the perfect foundations for picking up the bass guitar at the age of 11. At the age of 16 Ewan won a talent contest held by Chalmers MacKay Music School in Aberdeenshire. Ewan went on to obtain his Advanced Higher in Music in secondary school, and then completed an HNC in Music Performance at Aberdeen College where he won a Scottish Gold medal for popular music in the FE Skills Challenge in 2005. Following this, Ewan worked with the director of The Lemon Tree, a well-known music venue and studio in Aberdeen who coordinated his collaboration with accomplished producer Tim Shoben. Between 2005 and 2007 Ewan sessioned as a musician for The Lemon Tree. Since then he has worked with various musicians and producers and has toured all over Europe.

Following his passion for music, Ewan moved to London where he achieved a Bachelor’s of Music Honours Degree in Contemporary Music Performance at Tech Music School, of West London during which time he networked and connected with many key people throughout the music industry in both the UK and internationally. On leaving university Ewan has been part of setting up an extremely successful function band business, called The Supreme Collective, with a reputation for being extremely professional and tight, creating brilliant party atmosphere wherever they go.

Ewan's passion for music has led him to perform all across the UK from 1999, including all the local haunts of London. Ewan's session work involves playing the bass guitar and doing backing vocals for artists, and for various original and cover bands that he works with. Along with composing, arranging, rehearsing, recording and performing, Ewan also teaches bass guitar in London and over Skype.

Over the past year Ewan has been composing music for sync publishing. Currently his music is held with multiple publishers in the UK. This project is something Ewan continually works on, and aims to produce a few EPs a year to put forward for publishing.
